California-based husband and wife photographers, David and Shirley Rowen,
have been passionate about Venice for decades. With the reemergence of
traditional Carnevale festivities in Venice in the early 1980s, the
Rowens set about turning their passion into a unique vision of the city's
celebrations over the years. Their crisp, evocative often haunting works
were compiled in the 1989 publication, "Carnival in Venice", and have been
exhibited around the world.
