Ed Ruscha

Ed Ruscha (b. 1937) worked as a printmaker, painter, photographer and filmmaker. His work is related to 1960s Pop art, and he is well known for his irreverent word paintings and precise style. Born in Nebraska and raised in Oklahoma, Ruscha moved to Los Angeles at the age of 18. More than any other artist of his era, he redefined the way we view the landscape of Los Angeles, if not the country as a whole.
