Collection: Iranian Jews

The creator of these doors is unknown and it is only estimated that they were from the 19th century. They are painted in the style of the time with several borders, a center medallion, and four quadrants with rich jewel tones. The painted musicians and inscribed poetry speak to the important role Jews, who have had a continued presence in Iran since 600 BCE, played in preserving Persian traditions. Each door measures one and a half by six feet.
