Jennifer Steinkamp

American installation artist Jennifer Steinkamp (b. 1958) is known for her interactive video environments designed to suit specific architectural spaces. Often, viewers are incorporated into her art through their ability to manipulate the environment through movement triggers and the feeling that they can enter into the image itself. Now based in California, Steinkamp is a native of Denver, Colorado where she recently completed a commission for the Denver Art Museum's new Daniel Libeskind-designed building.
