Collection: Pablo Picasso
Spanish artist Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) is one of the most famous figures
of modern art. His works changed, shaped, and defined twentieth century
art. The son of an art school teacher, his talent was seen early on, and he
entered the Barcelona School of Arts at the age of 14. He explored many
styles and media during his long career including his melancholic "Blue
Period", cheerful pink-hued "Rose Period", Cubism, print-making, drawing,
and sculpture. During his lifetime he actively built up his own legend, and
anecdotes abound of his marketing savvy, romantic liaisons, and showmanship.
